The slogan for Scott is "Where the West Begins." The official city website indicates that it is believed that the slogan started because Scott was where railroad eastern train fare rates ended and western fare rates began.

Events, Attractions, Arts & Culture
Acadiana is well known for its rich cultural heritage, festivals and family activities. Opportunities such as Lafayette's Children's Museum, numerous theaters, and much, much more are highlighted and organized beautifully at CajunFun.com. The Jean Lafitte National Historical Park is a function of the National Park Service with an offering in Lafayette through the Acadian Cultural Center.
