Events, Attractions, Arts & Culture
Because it borders Lafayette, Broussard is closely aligned to Lafayette activities. Both enjoy rich cultural heritage, festivals and family activities. Opportunities such as the Children's Museum, numerous theaters, and much, much more are highlighted and organized beautifully at CajunFun.com. The CajunFun site, sponsored by the Acadiana Educational Endowment offers a sugar_mill_park_in_broussardone-stop site for activities, including the performing arts, in and around Acadiana. It details events, exhibits and functions such as story times at our local libraries and functions at the Heymann Center. Be sure to check out their "Just For Kids" list of events.

Speaking of kids, The Kart Ranch local family center is nearby as is the Zoo of Acadiana.

Living in Broussard means that a trip to Vermilionville is easy! Vermilionvillle offers a great deal of programs and events such as their popular boat tours. Also, the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park is a function of the National Park Service with an offering in Lafayette through the Acadian Cultural Center.

Music is an important element throughout Acadiana.
From the Acadiana Symphony to the Grant Street Dance Hall, The 7 can provide confident and experienced assurance that this area lacks nothing in regard to enjoying your favorite type of music or cuisine! Everyone in the area looks forward to Friday's Downtown Live in Lafayette. The Festival International de Louisiane celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2006.

Broussard does its part to celebrate Mardi Gras with a significant celebration. SWMardiGras.com describes the annual Cajun Field activities that include parades, carnival, live music, and other events that contribute to the success of area Mardi Gras festivities.

The Cajun Dome hosts a
variety of events such as the Ragin Cajun Basketball games, the Cajun Heartland State Fair and big name entertainment.

Broussard families take part in support of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL) Sport's activities. This includes tailgating before a Saturday football game or taking in the other college level sports offered by Ragin Cajuns.
 
Parks and Recreation
The Broussard-Youngsville Youth Association (BYYA) does a tremendous job of delivering activities to youth ages 4-17. BYYA activities include baseball, fast and slow pitch softball, tee-ball, flag and tackle football, basketball and volleyball. Registration, photos and additional information is available on the BYYA website. Soccer is supported by the Lafayette Soccer Association.

The
Lafayette Convention and Visitor's Bureau website provides this list ofgolf public and private golf courses. Public Golf courses in Lafayette include Golfhaven, Gold D'Allie at the Farm, City Park Golf Course, and the North University Golf Center. Sites with their own websites include Acadian Hills and Le Triomphe Golf and Country Club which is located in Broussard/Youngsville. The Lafayette Golf Academy and Golf Tee Driving Range are two of several Driving Ranges.

You can find what you are looking for in Lafayette Parish! From the regionally popular Shopping Mall of Acadiana to dozens of strip malls, boutique and antique shops, shoppers come from all over to take advantage of the retail opportunities provided by local shop owners and national chains.
